Frolicking through Frelinghuysen

I recently had the pleasure of strolling through the plantiful pathways of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township, NJ.

Nestled within Morris County, this wonderful oasis is home to a plethora of flowering plants, trees, and fields, perfect for a summer afternoon stroll.

Meandering through the arboretum is a section of the Patriot’s Path, a multi-use pathway stretching for a total of 35 miles from East Hanover to High Bridge, NJ. This trail along with the many educational nature trails can be easily combined into longer loops if desired. Check out the map of the arboretum to see for yourself!

This 127-acre tract includes an historic mansion surrounded by a rose garden, fern garden, as well as many other enchantingly arborous nooks and crannies. “Through their continuing commitment and volunteer efforts, the Friends of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum foster and develop public awareness, knowledge and enjoyment of horticulture and the natural world,” (Friends of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum).
