Getting Back to Business + Italy’s Dolomites
HELLOOO THERE!
Yes, it HAS been awhile, I know. Over the past couple months, much and more has been going on with very little time to update the Wanderblog, but I AM BACK!
Just yesterday, Marek and I returned from a two-week stint abroad in Italy and France with visits to MANY-a-place including the AWEsome Dolomites.
I will be putting together a more detailed account of our visit to il Dolomiti, but allow me to quickly fill you in if you’re unfamiliar with this astounding region...
First of all, here’s what they look like:

AND atop many of the staggering peaks lie these rifugi (singular: rifugio), remnants of the First World War, that offer full-scale meals, espresso, flush toilets, AND accommodations.
Pretty, pretty, pretty interesting, right?
The Dolomites are located in northeastern Italy and form a part of the Southern Limestone Alps. Their dramatic appearance (i.e. SHOOTING out of the earth from the green grass below) makes them quite the unique mountain range to behold.
We ventured to 3 mountain towns - Cortina d’Ampezzo, Alleghe, and San Martino di Castrozza - and experienced an ever-changing landscape throughout.
Needless to say, this was one of our favorite parts of the trip and I cannot wait to share more!
