The Narrows, Zion NP, Utah

The Virgin River is our guide as we hike into the cavernous slot canyon that is The Narrows of Zion National Park! A permit-free section of the lengthier Subway hike, this up to 6 mile round trip, bottom-up version is full of spectacular sites to see and waters to wander.  Come prepared with shoes that grip, layered clothing, trekking poles, and an appetite for ADVENTURE and you will not be disappointed!

Unboring Exploring: 
Angel's Landing, Zion NP, Utah

On this circa 5 mile round-trip trek, we travel up the world-famous Angel's Landing Trail within Utah's Zion National Park!  This nearly 1,500 foot monolith stands proudly over Zion's Canyon floor, challenging you with rock scrambles, extreme exposure, and RADICAL drop offs on either side of its narrow trail.  This hike is not meant for small children or those wary of heights, but if you have the temerity, swing up these switchbacks and fly to Angel's Landing's summit!

The Giant Stairs, Palisades Park, NJ & NY

Survey this surprisingly EPIC trail within the Palisades Interstate Park in New Jersey and New York!  Comprised of substantial views up and down the Hudson River, a waterfall, rope swings, AND a rock scramble in the shadow of towering cliffs, this hike is CHOCKABLOCK with natural curiosities.  So lace up your hiking boots and have a go at this gem amongst New Jersey!

Bonticou Crag, Mohonk Preserve, NY

Lookin' for a hearty helpin' of rock scramble? Here you have it! During this hike in Mohonk Preserve outside of New Paltz, NY, we venture up the giant talus fragments of Bonticou Crag. Be sure to have proper footwear and a craving for climbing before attempting this ascent. This unique trek culminates with a 360° view encompassing the Catskill Mountains and beyond and is full of one-of-a-kind perspectives. So what are you waiting for? Go get your clamberin' on!

XC Skiing Minnewaska State Park Preserve, NY

Revel in the bountiful snowfall throughout Minnewaska State Park Preserve in this episode of Unboring Exploring. With geological formations exclusive to this area of New York State, this park is chalk-full of satisfying and interesting cross-country ski trails. Travel the Upper Awosting Carriageway along the Shawangunk Ridge and coast along the shores of Lake Awosting. What a fascinating place!

The Escarpment Trail, Catskills, NY

The FINAL installment of the "Unboring Exploring" Catskills trilogy!  In this episode, we travel along the Escarpment Trail for a nearly 10 mile loop.  A surfeit of awe-inspiring views and historical landmarks await you on this bright-eyed and bushy-tailed pathway.  Come investigate this area of the Catskill range while gaining some knowledge along the way!
